US Politics – November 2022
US Politics – November 2022 | Republicans winning the House
All the anticipation and hype has given way to emotional reactions, both positive and negative. However it is almost certain the democrats will lose the House, and this will create a better balance of power.
What have we learned from this election cycle?
- The country is still split 50-50 in competitive States – with marginal victories on either side. As long as there are opportunities created to extend and accept votes after election Day (postmarked?) election integrity will be questioned. Interestingly, this time it shifted from PA to Arizona and Nevada.
- Voter intimidation can have many forms, and I’m not quite sure how you feel about a President openly declaring opponents NAZI’ or racist and using Fascist tactics on the way.
- The media, almost all of them, including commentators on social media are no longer informing people but are government compliers. Thus they are a part of a power structure that pushes for what they call the Republicans out for.
- There have always been extreme elements in political view, and that should be welcomed. It is better to have their voices open, then like Soros or Sam Bankman-Fried, who donate billions to push one extreme are tolerated by the media, while other opposing views are demonized and vilified. For what reason, free abortion and unlimited Wars?
- Abortion and unlimited Wars; talk about election deciders? It is hardly a question of candidate quality, both sides offer good and party liners. We see two major factors; abortion mobilized the youth and the old “birthing people” mostly organized by the 1960 activists who are still living in the past with no birth control, to preserve their legacy, and their lifetime passion; secondly, the elite establishment and the War-Monger Bush / Cheney clan (moderates by Liz Cheney standard) needed to avoid a “Red Wave” at all costs to continue their influence. I questioned the united support of all Republicans for the War in Ukraine… As in my humble opinion it took all opposition out leading to the elections. The “unifier” trick?
- Has democracy really won? We will know when we enter the 2024 election cycle which starts November 15, probably with all knifes out.
- Economy: It was well played, Inflation eased a bit with the strategic reserve consumption. The War in the Ukraine was good enough to ease the GDP, perhaps the real reason for the War?
- International relations, don’t matter, especially if we plan to settle with wars if things do not go our way.
- Green Deal, Infrastructure, Student Loan etc., – people are happy for free deals, under the impression someone else pays. Imagine asking your neighbors to pay for you.
The real winner, if any, is the leadership team of Pelosi, Schumer and the President. They orchestrated a media and political campaign focusing mostly on demonizing people, questionable facts, accomplishments, and a core that is only interested in retaining power.
The real loser is McConnel, who sided (for reasons only known to him) for nothing. This leads to speculations, is he compromised? And do the democrats know? Is his allegiance with the War Mongers or has he simply put his ego above country and did it to take revenge on Trump?
And there are a lot of little losers in the Republican party, like Lindsey Graham, who is almost as good as Biden to screw things up with a minute of TV glory. For example, his comments on abortion.
Going forward, the Republicans winning the House means that the most proficient and ruthless political person will be reduced to a voice, and removed as the Speaker of the House. That is Nancy Pelosi. Give her credit for what she did, if it was good for the Country.. history will tell. But DON’T count her out, she works in the background as some might say former President # 44 does.
For the Republicans – vote for a speaker that can unite, not a hardliner nor a War Monger nor a Rhino. ,
And then there is the Minority Senate Leader – he has been outmaneuvered by Schumer – Pelosi in the last 2 years, call it to compromise but he did not get anything in return? However as long as Schumer is the Majority Leader, whoever comes in will have to be on his toes, as his negotiation tactics are New York style. More so in reference to the Mob than negotiating, but that is a reference to the party he choose. Certainly, a new Republican leader would show that we are willing to take on the establishment.
For Schumer, as he travels, his constituents in the press continue to congratulate him on the win. He indicates openness to compromise. Whatever that means is his secret, and after the CRT and environmental activists were traded for abortion in the buildup, we will see how long they keep quiet.
The bright spot in all this? Do we have another entertaining time in front until at least 2024. Or just better said;
nothing new in the west?
