Geopolitical Focus – August 2023
What should people value in today's global politics, especially considering how even light bulbs have become political, and non-democratic systems are often challenged through warfare, if not meeting US standards?
What's NATO's role, encompassing all of Europe except Russia, while the EU, a political entity, excludes some NATO members? If China invaded the US, would Europe (NATO members) need to send troops to the US or show solidarity by defending Taiwan?
Previously, the EU primarily focused on trade, addressing wealth disparities to a degree, but now, higher taxes and debt distribution under EU regulations raise concerns of suppressed democracies, akin to past powers.
Why impose Ukraine-related sanctions and EU rules on sovereign nations like Switzerland with true people's democracy and neutrality? With a strengthened NATO supported by legal and financial means and a global green agenda, it's possible NATO could become the EU's military arm, while the EU enforces compliance on non-members through sanctions. The US already does this with Ukraine, and Western democracies follow suit. Diplomacy, not war, is the answer – through inclusive trade agreements that benefit the world, embracing both poorer nations and those with different democratic standards.

Those who had hoped that the US would end the Ukraine carnage were disappointed: Victoria Nuland, ruthless warmonger, was promoted. Now she has more opportunities to advance her hard-hitting agenda.
Victoria Nuland, CIA operative and responsible for the 2014 Maidan Coup:
From 2003 to 2005, Nuland served as the principal deputy foreign policy adviser to Vice President Dick Cheney, exercising an influential role during the Iraq War. From 2005 to 2008, during President George W. Bush's second term, Nuland served as U.S. ambassador to the North Atlantic Treaty
Organization (NATO) in Brussels, where she concentrated on mobilizing European support for the NATO intervention in Afghanistan.[15]
In May 2013, Nuland was nominated to act as assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs[18] and was sworn in on September 18, 2013.[19] In her role as assistant secretary, she managed diplomatic relations with fifty countries in Europe and Eurasia, as well as with NATO, the European Union and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
She departed from the department during the Trump administration, and her husband, Robert Kagan, who is associated with Billy Krystal, seems poised to sustain the momentum of the war machine.
Kagan has stated that "all Republican foreign policy professionals are anti-Trump," which raises the question whether this implies they are proponents of imperialism. Both Kagan and Krystal are staunch backers of the anti-Trump movement.
In 2003, Kagan's book Of Paradise and Power: America and Europe in the New World Order, published on the eve of the US invasion of Iraq, created something of a sensation through its assertions that Europeans tended to favor peaceful resolutions of international disputes while the United States takes a more "Hobbesian" view in which some kinds of disagreement can only be settled by force, or, as he put it: "Americans are from Mars and Europe is from Venus."
The situation seems unending, with ongoing Western propaganda and a death toll surpassing half a million on both sides, not to mention the significant number of people left disabled. Furthermore, the US has recently increased efforts in the production of ammunition. Interestingly, there's a pursuit of sanctions against Switzerland, while
Russia appears to be shifting its focus towards Dubai.
U.S. parliamentarians are convinced that Switzerland is one of the most evil sanction breakers in favor of Russia. Not only the banks, but also commodity traders. According to agency reports, the U.S. Treasury Department wanted to make representations to the Commodity Trading Association in Geneva on Monday. Suspicion: circumventing sanctions in the oil business.
Recovery due to Ukraine crisis
Perhaps it would not be a bad idea if the American investigators did not look around in Geneva, but in Dubai. The glittering city has become an important hub for the Russian oil trade and has replaced Geneva as the main location for traders who sell Russian oil to consumers all over the world.
It remains to be seen how durable the notion of a united Western front will prove. China will likely navigate a strategic balance among various countries, weighing tariffs against the prospect of conflict with the US, along with considerations of future investments. There's also noteworthy German expansion toward China on the European front, which, while not excessively detrimental, still holds significance. On another note, due to the aftermath of Ukrainian War sanctions and the emphasis on the green agenda, Germany is grappling with a substantial economic downturn, resulting in numerous smaller companies facing bankruptcy.

Is the EU acting as a warmonger under the guise of humanitarian aid, essentially fueling conflict with funds from European taxpayers through an unelected organization? Is this truly the role the EU should play, or should conditions require a ceasefire before allocating funds? While NATO's support for Ukraine extends the conflict with US backing, the EU seemingly aligns with Washington's objectives, potentially leaving EU member states in a state of collective defeat.
As for evidence of the US's transparency and openness about the war, consider that Erdogan might have consented to Sweden's NATO entry in exchange for continuing to supply Russian oil to Ukraine. What alternative fuel sources does Ukraine have? Could it turn to the Middle East, even Iran, or any nation deemed adversarial by the US? Perhaps even the US itself through its strategic reserves via China? It's all part of a political game orchestrated by politicians.
Unbelievable, but true: Ukrainian tanks are increasingly running on Russian fuel. According to Ukrainian customs, the diesel comes from Hungary and Turkey – which source the oil for their refineries from Russia.
Especially in recent times, these imports of crude oil are said to have increased noticeably. At the same time, Hungary's leading oil company MOL, in which the state holds a stake of almost 25 percent, has doubled its sales to Ukraine in the past six months. Due to an exemption from the European Union, the company is allowed to continue importing Russian oil. -
