US Politics January 2025 - RIP Jimmy Carter | Biden's Final Pardons

January 8, 2025

A Reflection on Policy, Pardons, and Political Consequences

The Jimmy Carter Legacy as President is dependent on your political view, and World view , but as a person before and after his presidency, he was the personification of faith, decency, and humility—no one can argue. One of his most classy acts was staying out of politics, television, and moaning about his loss. He saw no value in prostituting himself in the limelight like the Clintons and Obamas, with their never-ending wisdom to make a buck. Here is a cartoonish review.

Compare that to the decency Mr. Biden expresses Mr. Trump is lacking when asked about Jimmy Carter. Joe Biden is probably the most opposite of Carter, and Carter probably had more brainpower in his last year than Joe has had for a while. This gives a glimpse into the non-critical woke, “everyone-a-trophy” media and press leadership.

Mr. Biden the pardon, clemency, and award giving President shows you what his political agenda really is. Perhaps he will add Judge Marchan to the list of Medal of Freedom recipients if he sentences Trump to jail for about 5 days , to fuel the “convicted President” argument for the next four years. What a move of flattery, appeasement, and flat-out misuse of the awards.

Covering all his tracks and more, expect some last-day actions to ensure no one can challenge his history and to give out more false trophies for his support system. Perhaps we should bypass the “political judicial systems,” like January 6 or liberal judges, and do a people's tribunal in such proceedings.

By pardoning his son, Joe Biden has reneged on a public promise he made repeatedly before and after dropping out of the 2024 presidential race. The president and his spokesperson said unequivocally that he would not pardon Hunter Biden or commute his sentence.

And before leaving the White House on Jan. 20, the president is expected to issue additional pardons , specifically focused on sentencing disparities, according to a source familiar with the plans.

Democracy means Consensus, not alignment. It’s not the patriarchal view of Pelosi and Schumer, but do not expect much change moving forward. For Democrats, politics is war, The Democrats’ War Machine , prioritizing power over politics and ideology over democracy. They call everyone else haters and right-wingers to ensure Pelosi’s legacy lives on.

DOGE, the word most feared by big spenders and bureaucrats, is not a program that can implement policy but rather advocate for democratic tools. For pork and spending politicians, it is a red flag akin to Dr. Paul’s Festivus report. Adding up peace money for wars and failed negotiations, the hostages remain missing in the Israel–Gaza conflict. Those who vote for more bureaucracy need a reality check—hopefully, DOGE can provide it.

Homelessness and Poverty seem almost like a tool for Democrats to keep their base aligned. While blue America believes the trap, Hispanics appear to value freedom and opportunity or, as they say, "It’s the economy, stupid."

Across the U.S., more than 771,800 people lived without housing in 2024, according to a count taken annually on a single night in January. The number for January 2024 is 18.1% higher than in 2023, when officials counted about 650,000 people living in homeless shelters or on the streets. In 2022, the population of people experiencing homelessness was about 580,000.

"The numbers are just mind-boggling to me," Ann Oliva, CEO of the National Alliance to End Homelessness, told USA TODAY.

The H-1B Visa Controversy remains a significant debate. The H-1B visa program has long been in place, and when applied correctly, it shouldn’t take U.S. jobs. While equal pay is a valid concern, it could be addressed in the approval process. To combat skilled labor shortages, improving the educational system to meet workforce needs is a better solution than relying on more lawyers.

Between one-third and one-half of all farmworkers in America reside in California, roughly 500,000–800,000 farmworkers.

Approximately 75% of California’s farmworkers are undocumented. National Labor Relations Laws (NLRA) do not apply to farmworkers. Farmworkers are exempt from many Fair Labor Standards Act (FSLA) protections, including most minimum wage and hour guarantees, overtime pay, and mandatory breaks for rest and meals.

As the transition of the Presidency concludes, Jan 6 remains a focal point, with its participants facing legal consequences. Meanwhile, the outgoing president is set to deliver two major speeches.

Florida as a Republican Model: The 2024 election affirmed Florida’s red state status, driven by concerns over immigration, inflation, and the economy. Ron DeSantis ’ governance model is now a point of interest for Republicans nationwide.

For those in denial, the 2024 election proclaimed Florida as a red state. Concerns about immigration, inflation, and the economy resonated with voters, particularly Hispanics.

Greenland and Canada: While unlikely, the idea of a unified continent under U.S. governance is an intriguing thought. A landmass larger than Russia’s 6.59 million square miles would indeed be remarkable.

With Congress and Senate and its leaders all in place , the Trump administration will hopefully receive assistance from the states, as the red-colored map shows dominance. Full steam ahead, with transparency, debate, and consensus, the public must mature to listen, debate, and accept that elections have consequences. Governance cannot please everyone, but respect and disagreement have greater appeal. Here are the latest members of the Trump team as proposed.

Will a financial crisis loom under Trump? Biden's spending , among other factors, has spiraled the U.S. deficit to unprecedented heights. International concerns over how this will shape up persist. Another epidemic could lead to global corrections, but onshoring and U.S. manufacturing may ease the burden significantly.

Forcing the incoming Treasury Department to stabilize U.S. finances is critical. The globe’s biggest economy faces scrutiny from investors and credit rating agencies. Washington’s chronic complacency is catching up as President Biden's post-COVID-19 borrowing binge leaves an impending reckoning. Trump’s proposed tax cuts may exacerbate these dynamics.

These two dynamics are about to collide in unpredictable ways — at a moment when buyers of U.S. national debt show reluctance to increase exposure to a shaky U.S. dollar.

Jan. 6 and Beyond: The DOJ continues investigating Jan. 6, 2021 with FBI assistance. Meanwhile, debates about political prisoners and alleged misuse of the legal system, like in the case of Judge Marchan’s decisions , rage on.

Trump is set to take office for a second term and may follow through on promises to pardon many Jan. 6 defendants, whom he describes as "political prisoners" unfairly targeted by the Biden administration.

The two months since Election Day have already proven unstable for the Justice Department's Capitol riot cases. Prosecutors face increasing delays as emboldened defendants anticipate potential pardons or commutations from the incoming administration.

Government shutdown averted, but at what cost for the Democratic party ? Is the new generation of Democrats so ideological that it raises the question of renaming them "Dementor-crats," taking ideology to defy any logic . Their hatred for Elon Musk and Trump runs so deep that they end up contradicting themselves. There is no question that the budget deficit now requires immediate action —not more taxes that suppress overall spending, but policies that fuel economic growth and increase tax revenue. Immigration : With border crossings at near-zero levels , we now have an opportunity to implement a merit-based immigration system to attract the skilled labor needed to support reshoring efforts. While it may not reduce the overall number of immigrants, it would shift budgets—moving from dependency to immediate economic contribution. The skilled labor gap is a documented reality —there is no denying it. The Teachers Union continues to claim it's helping everyone, yet it’s failing to educate children. Anger over budget cuts distracts from years of waste, and most states arguably perform better. The U.S. education system is currently ranked #31 globally , yet—like many Democrats—the union blames everyone else for its failures. Despite ranking #1 in per-pupil spending , the system cannot deliver the diversity and choice families want. So, who are we listening to—parents or unions ?

Timothy Snyder is an American historian specializing in the history of Central and Eastern Europe, the Soviet Union, and the Holocaust. His most recent analysis displays that " Hate" is not a good advisor . But if you checked the Democratic representation during the Joint session of Congress , their body language suggested otherwise. As long as the Democrats are represented by "Dinosaurs" like Sanders, Waters, and Pelosi, even their strongest strategists may face challenges. James Carville , who is often outspoken, is shifting in rhetoric. Meanwhile, even a well-placed analyst will not change the overall impression . Her family farm was part of Hygrade Meat Company, founded by her great-grandfather Samuel Slotkin, who emigrated from Minsk in 1900. Hygrade was the original company behind Ball Park Franks , now owned by Tyson Foods . Chris Murphy commented via MoveOn.org but offered no solutions. Mary Trump , a psychologist, has long been a staunch critic of her uncle, frequently warning of the risks he poses. She said she was traumatized by his 2016 election win, fearing that he was uniquely ill-qualified to govern in a crisis. Let's follow all legal challenges for now. The Supreme Court has addressed the USAID ruling . Ultimately, the government will need to navigate these legal hurdles. Imagine: The endgame could be avoiding a Russia–BRICS alliance and instead fostering a Russia–US alliance, which could change the landscape of global peace. Given Russia and China's vast rare earth reserves, integration could be more beneficial than conflict. Gaza remains a focal point, and time will tell how the situation evolves. If diplomatic efforts succeed, we may see meaningful negotiations unfold in the near future.

Is Zelensky now running the world ? It appears so after his historic tantrum at the White House. Or is he merely a figure acting on behalf of the EU, Kaja Kallas, and European leaders (France, UK, Germany) to secure a seat at the table for “peace negotiations”? - Most likely, he is maneuvering to ensure continued EU support, including troops, while hoping that the EU convinces the Boltons of the US to send reinforcements as well. - Unfortunately for him, the US halted its advance in Berlin in 1945. Some on both sides may still be unhappy with that outcome. - Had Churchill and a real army continued, they could have pushed the Soviets back then. Note: The longer this conflict drags on, the only real losers are Ukraine and Europe. It's time for the US to explore trade agreements with Russia and South America. Accessing Russia via Alaska or Greenland remains an option. Should Europe be left to the Romans ? A Swiss newspaper featured an image of Mr. Murphy, who went on CNN after the meeting to ridicule JD and the President for their failure. Is he a traitor?
